You can simply send an email to ask whether De Loef is still available on a specific date or during a certain period. In general, the calendar is booked about three months in advance, but occasionally an earlier time slot may still be available. De Loef cannot keep more than one option on hold. We will just try a few dates consecutively, rather than keeping them all at once.
De Loef will send an invoice after the lecture. We kindly ask that you pay it within 14 days of receiving the invoice.
Sometimes a lecture cannot take place on the scheduled day, or not at all. That’s not a problem in itself, but we do ask that you inform us as soon as possible. In case of cancellation within two weeks before the agreed date, we will charge 25% of the full lecture fee. We have become a bit stricter about this, as it has happened several times that people forgot to cancel, and we ended up driving across the country only to find a closed school with no presentation scheduled.
Occasionally, De Loef may be ill (for example, she once lost her voice). In that case, the lecture cannot take place either. We will then reschedule as soon as possible and offer a 25% discount on our fee.
The lecture generally lasts about one and a half hours, without a break. De Loef will arrive at the venue between 30 and 45 minutes in advance (unless otherwise agreed). De Loef does not accept lectures shorter than 45 minutes. For the kind of stories we tell, shorter sessions simply do not work well.
When a date has been reserved, the organizer will receive a calendar invitation for that date, that time slot, and thatlocation. Please also double-check these details on your end when receiving the invitation, so that we all know exactly when, where, and at what time the lecture will take place.
For the lecture, a beamer with a projection screen or a digital board is needed (if the room is small enough for a digital board to work well). In addition, depending on the acoustics and the size of the audience, a microphone is desirable (preferably a handheld one, not a headset, and in any case not a fixed microphone). A glass of water is also much appreciated. The chairs should ideally be arranged in a theater setup, without tables in between.
The presentation slides will be made available afterwards to the audience via the last slide: they can download them from the website. In the case of a webinar, the recording may be made available for up to five days after the event.
We will soon make a media kit available with sample invitation texts, photos, and feedback from previous lectures. This is currently under construction.
